One of a kind, 1987 Chevy Silverado
V20 3/4 ton 4x4. For starters it's a 99.9% rustfree western Survivor.
Most of the paint is even still original on a very straight body.
That's all well and good, and par for our vehicles, but here is the best
part. It has 12 valve Cummins mated to an NV4500 5 speed manual
through a 13" South Bend clutch. This truck started life as a diesel
with a 4 speed, so the swap went very smooth. The truck is an absolute
blast to drive. The odometer only shows 94,209 on the chassis, and the
engine only has a 145k in it and is still stock other a fuel pin adjustment.
It also has 4" exhaust front to back. The truck has a 4" lift and
rides on 285/75/16 33" radials. Also, the valve covers have been
powder coated to match the truck. The truck retains all it's 6.2
diesel badging and the Chrome factory shifter the the 4 speed pattern on it
the maintain the stock GM look.
We installed a new carpet kit and
headliner. The rest of the interior is clean and basically stock.
It even still has the original AM/FM radio that still works. Other
options include PS, PDB, duel tanks, Tilt, Cruise, class III receiver hitch
etc.
This is a great looking truck that
everyone who sees it loves it. I would hop in and drive it cross
county period. It seems to be getting at least 20 MPG, and I like to
push the throttle down when I drive it. "Roll the Coal". The
drivetrain combination has less than 4k miles on it. The trans
was gone through and only needed 3rd and 4th gear syncros. Again, it
has the biggest single disc clutch South Bend offers for this application,
13". That assembly was $1200. The motor mounts were purchased,
not fabricated by some hillbilly.
Bottom line, you couldn't build
this truck for the price I'm selling it for. It doesn't need a thing
to be enjoyed. |
