Very hard to find 1971 Ford F250 factory "Highboy"
4x4. Most of the pre 73's have been beat to death or are rust buckets
even out west. This truck is a true survivor. It is one family
owned, and still features the original paint, on a 99.5% rustfree body.
This truck also has the fancy
"Sport Custom" trim.
It has a smooth, strong 360,
with a nice shifting 4 speed, with a nice operating clutch. It has 4:10 axles,
and the 4x4 system works fine.
These early 67 - 72 Highboys are
hard to find and very sought after.
This is a nice simple 4 speed, that
runs and drives excellent. It has two dealer installed auxiliary
fuel tanks. The only non factory item is a nice sounding AM/FM
radio.
She is a solid as these early Highboys come.
None of the pre 73's are 100% rustfree. It has a few spots of rust
here and there just due to age, but not from salt or neglect. Most
of the rust you see is just surface from age, It has pin holes in
a few spots, and rust in the pass side inner fender under the battery
from battery acid. But overall she is as solid as the early
Highboys come.
Bottom line this is a
clean hard to find nice simple 4x4. I would hop in and drive it
any place.
