1976 Ford F250 factory "Highboy" 4x4.
This classic 4x4 just received a cosmetic restoration this year. It is 100% RUSTFREE
and was built in, and spent it's entire life on the west coast. The
paint, and interior are new. The bed liner is also new. It has a
strong 1976 460 that has less than 75k miles on it. The C6 automatic
transmission has been rebuilt, and shifts nice. It has the bullet
proof NP205 Transfer Case, with the big Spicer Hub front axle and a Dana 60
rear; both spinning 4.10 gears. It has like new 35x12.5x16.5 tires on
nice alloy wheels. The disk breaks stop quick and smooth. The
shocks and suspension are tight, and it drives like new. The reason it
drives so nice is that the old sloppy slave cylinder powers steering that
came on the Highboys has been replaced with a later "Recirculating Ball"
style power steering box that came off of a 1979 F250. This a common,
and very desirable upgrade. The stock power steering is the worst
thing about a Highboy.
This Highboy also has a period correct
winch on the front. Bottom line this 4x4 just has a rugged look to it.
I love driving
this truck and get a ton of compliments on it. The paint job is nice
and the body is straight. It runs and drives as nice as it
looks. If you want a Highboy that is done and ready to go, you can't
go wrong on this one. You couldn't come close to restoring one
yourself for the price of this one.
