1976 F250 4x4 with the Top-of-the-Line
XLT trim. This is a factory Highboy with the divorced transfercase,
and with
the big "Spicer" hub front axle. What makes the 76 special are the
disc brakes up front, and the "open knuckle" front axles. Prier to 76
F250 4x4's had drum brakes, and the less desirable "closed knuckle" front
axle. This is probably the highest optioned Highboy I have had.
I even have all the original documents including the window sticker.
It has a smooth, strong 390 4 bbl, and a nice shifting 4 speed, with a
smooth clutch. Other options include factory A/C, works, but needs to
be charged, factory cab lights, factory AM/FM, 4.10 axels, Power Steering,
Power Disc brakes, divorced gear driven bullet proof NP205 transfer case,
etc. This is an original paint west coast survivor.
It is 99.9% rustfree. It has some rust across the rear of the bed
floor. Other than that it it rock solid. Even the front floors
are perfect. That is hard to find in a Highboy even out west.
This 4x4 drives
nice. It has a new master cylinder, with all new rear brakes: shoes,
wheel cylinders, turned drums, etc.
One of the best
parts of this truck is that the paint is 100% original, so you see exactly
what you are getting. She has a few battle scars, but hasn't been a
beat work truck. I think this blue metallic is one of the best Highboy
colors. These Highboys are the hottest trucks for me right now.
It doesn't get any better than a blue, XLT, 4 speed, A/C, disc brake Highboy
with all the fancy trim.
