This is a fine example of an
early 1977 Ford F250 factory "Highboy" 4x4. The early 77's still had
the 360 engine, and the slave cylinder power steering. 1977 was the
last year for the "Highboys". This one features 100% original black
paint on a 100% rustfree body from California. On the hood you can see
the factory Ford primer where the California sun had backed the paint off.
The 4x4 has never been cut or lifted, and is one of the nicer original
Highboys I have had in a while. The body has a few dings from normal
use but not abuse. The only note worthy damage is on the
front lower part of the right
front fender (see picture below). Even the bed floor and bed rails are
straight. This truck is an excellent driver. The 360 runs
strong, the 4 speed shifts nice, the 205 transfer case operates smoothly and
the 4x4 system works perfect. The shocks and exhaust have recently
been replaced. It has a Flowmaster muffler that sounds nice. The
disc brakes stop straight, and smooth, and the suspension is tight. It
has a nice sounding AM/FM radio in the stock location. The tires are
33/12.5/16.5's on clean nice looking old school "Turbine" 10 inch aluminum
wheels. The tires are a matched set of BFG's but they are getting
thin. Hop in pump the gas peddle twice, the choke sets, and she
fires right up.
The bottom line,
this is a nice clean unabused rustfree California survivor that I would hop
in and drive it anywhere. These Highboys are the hottest trucks right
now, this one won't last.
