This is a mostly original paint,
98% rustfree California 1977 Ford F250 factory "Highboy" 4x4. In mid
77 Ford dropped the "Highboy" in favor of the lower stance 78/79 style.
The 77 Highboy's got the 351/400 engine but still had divorced
transfer case, and the slave cylinder power steering.
I
purchased this truck to be totally rustfree but it didn't come as described,
so I am selling it cheap. If it was 100% rustfree the price would be
$7950.00. Even though it has some minor rust it is still structurally
solid and pretty
straight.
This Highboy is an excellent
driver. It has a rebuilt
400, nice shifting C6, power steering, power disc brakes, factory bed side
toolbox, and 4.10 axles with a limited slip rear. It has the divorced 205 transfer case. It also has the
heavy duty big hub front axle, the big disc brakes. The truck has nice
exhaust, and new Rancho shocks, etc. The disc brakes stop straight, and
smooth, and the suspension is tight. Hop in pump the gas peddle, the choke sets, and she
fires right up.
This truck like the last 77 I
had has some rust in the floors, but the rockers, and cab corners are
totally rustfree. The rear left side of the bed floor has a rust hole, the outer
corner of the drivers door,
front corner of the drivers rear wheel opening, the front upper corners of
the bed, and the very rear of the bed
has some bubbles starting. All the other rust spots are surface and
will sand off. I have included close ups of all the mentioned areas.
You will notice surface rust in the front bed floor, and the bottom inside
of the drivers door. It is only surface with no rust through in those
areas. The truck is really solid and structurally sound.
The bottom line,
this is a nice solid Highboy at a good price.
