Rare and unique 1977 F250 4x4. This
truck is 99.9% rustfree from California. I was built there and
spent it's entire life there.
It has a nice running 351 engine, smooth shifting 4 speed, AC, power
steering, power disc brakes, etc. It has the Bullet proof NP205
transfer case, high pinion Dana 44 front, and a Dana 60 rear.
Now for the interesting part.
Per the VIN tag it is a 2wd "F25" but now is a 4x4. I have never
seen a long bed stepside 4x4 in any 77 Ford configuration. The
story is that it was built for the California government or utility
company. Yet it has a 23J axle code. The 23 is for 3.54
gears, and the J is the front 4x4 axle code.
So it appears as it was factory
built as a longbed stepside 4x4.
Otherwise its a pretty straight
turn key driver. The discoloration on the drivers door is from
some sort of decal.
I don't have a lot more to say
about this truck that the pictures cant say.
