1977 F250 4x4,
Top-of-the-Line "Ranger XLT" trim, and heavy duty "Camper Special".
This 77 appears to have most every option offered in 77: It has both
premium option packages, 400 engine upgraded to the a 460, A/C, factory cruise control, overloads on the rear springs,
intermittent wipers, factory tie down hooks, C6 automatic, power
steering, power disc brakes, bed side tool box, dual tanks, etc.
It is a clean, original, rustfree, California Survivor. It
has the Bullet proof NP205 transfer case, high pinion Dana 44 front, and
a limited slip Dana 60 rear. The 460 is rebuilt and runs smooth
and strong, the A/C works, and the C6 was rebuilt at the same time as
the engine shifts nice and firm. The previous owner couldn't find
the receipts as it was done several years ago, but he said there is less
than 10k on the rebuilds. Based on the oil pressure, how strong
the engine is, and how the transmission shifts I don't question what he
claims.
The "Ranger XLT" package was the
top-of-the-line trim package offered by Ford in 1977, while the "Camper
Special" package added the heavy duty parts, including extra coolers,
rear anti sway bar, and bigger disc brakes. The tailgate colors don't match
the truck exactly and it has a rust spot in it. I suspect it isn't
the original tailgate from this truck. This is a neat fully loaded Heavy
duty 4x4. It has a class III receiver hitch. It has like new
factory sized tires on it. It even still has the factory spare
tire in it I have personally driven this
truck a couple hundred miles, and I would drive it any place in this
country. Bottom line the original survivors
aren't getting any easier to find.
