This is a very rare and
desirable 100% RUSTFREE 1978 F250 4x4. It has most every option
offered in 1978, Including the top-of-the-line "Lariat" trim package, and
the heavy duty "Trailering Special" towing package. 1978 was
the first year for the Lariat package, and production was very limited. The lariat package
gave you all the pretty stuff, and the Trailering special gave you the heavy
duty parts. The Trailering package included heavier springs, rear
anti-sway bar, much larger brakes, extra and larger fluid coolers, etc.
Other factory options include: rebuilt 400 V8, C6 Automatic, A/C, PS, PDB, Tilt,
Cruise, Tool Box, Factory Tie Down Hooks, etc. The A/C gets cool but
needs a pound or so of Freon. The body is 100% rustfree, and features
all of the original medium blue metallic paint. The body is very
straight, with the exception of the bed rails. The are dented, but
repairable. It does have a 3" body lift on the truck, that gives the
truck the look of a "Highboy". However, if you prefer the stock look
it is real easy to remove. This 4x4 has a nice sounding high end Sony
CD player, a class III hitch, and a flip up goose neck ball. Other
than the few mentioned items this truck is original. The suspension is
tight, the brakes stop straight, the exhaust is sound, and the 4x4 system
works fine. The tires are nice 33X12.5X16.5 BFG's. The interior
is clean bur needs new carpet.
This would be a great choice for
a full restoration, or just a nice driver as is. |
