Very rare
1980 Chevy 1 ton, crew-cab dually 4x4, with Top-of-the-line Silverado trim. It also has the 10,000lb GVW
"Camper Special" package. This truck is a one family
owned and claimed to be 92K actual miles on it. It is 98%
rustfree from the west coast. All but the hood id original paint
still, so you know exactly what you are getting. It is a fully
loaded Silverado with a strong small block, and a nice shifting turbo 400 automatic.
GM didn't start putting big blocks in the 1 ton 4x4's until 81. It
also has factory A/C, tile, cruise, dual tanks,
intermittent wipers, etc. It has nice sounding recent dual
exhaust, tight suspension, and good brakes. The tires are 6 almost
new BFG's on the stock wheels. She has a nice proud stance. This truck also has all the other HD equipment: Dana 60 front, NP205
Transfer case, Dana 70 rear, etc. These were the heaviest duty 4x4
pickups GM ever produced.
This 4x4
drives excellent. It has excellent power, rides real smooth,
drives tight, and stops perfect.
I call it 98%
rustfree because the front piece of the bed where it attaches to the bed
floor has rust. Also all for of the upper door jambs have
heavy surface rust, with the drivers rear door having some small holes.
I have included pics of all the rust. It's just hard to find a 73
- 80 that is truly original still that is 100% rustfree. They
aren't getting any newer. The floors, rockers bottoms of the
doors, cab mounts etc are all totally rustfree other the road rash chips
in the paint. We installed a new headliner. The previous
owner Rhino lined the inner floor and they did a nice professional job.
There is no rust in the floor that they were tying to hide or cover up.
He just liked the look and durability.
1980 is a cool looking year for
theses trucks only the fancy models got the flat grill work with the
square headlights. It is my favorite year for square bodies.
I have had a
lot of people waiting for the pics so if you like it don't drag your
feet.
