This is a one of a kind 1976 Ford F250 factory "Highboy"
4x4. 1976 was the best year for the Highboys. They got front
disc brakes and open knuckle front axles. Both were huge improvements
over previous years. This is one of the nicest original survivors I
have ever had. The paint is even still original and an awesome color
combination. I hate to say this, but as hard as these are to find
anymore, this is probably the nicest I will have going forward. This a 99.99% Rustfree,
Highboy from California. I call it 99.99% rustfree because is has one
spot on the drivers outer door corner (see picture). This is as solid
an original survivor as is out there anymore. The original 360 was
rebuilt a few years back, and a 4 speed manual. Other options include
Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, 4.10 axles with a limited slip Dana 60
rear. It has the cool heavy duty Highboy parts like the big
Spicer hub front axle, and the divorced bullet proof 205 transfer case.
It also has two auxiliary under bed mounted fuel tanks.
The interior is very nice.
We installed new OE carpet and seat cover. It has a working old
school AM/FM/8 track radio. It has 33" BFG's on nice stock
steel wheels. I also has a class III hitch on the rear. It
really drives nice. The brakes and suspension are tight. The
body has a few battle scars, but the inside of the bed, upper bed rails, and
front of the bed are very straight for its age.
Bottom line, I get
requests almost daily for Highboys with disc brakes. I
have gotten to where I just tell everyone to watch the site and first come first
served. She won't last long.
