1977 Ford F250 factory "Highboy" 4x4. The 77 is a unique year. It's
not only the last year for the "Highboy" suspension, but it's the most
desirable "Highboy". 77 was the first year for the 351/400 Modified
engine family. In mid 77 Ford dropped the "Highboy" in favor of
the lower stance 78/79 style. The 77 Highboy's still had divorced
transfer case, and the slave cylinder power steering. Another
reason the 77's are so desirable is that it is the only year Highboy
that a 460 will drop right in. Enough history.
This is a two
owner western survivor, only showing 82,104 on the odometer.
It features most of it's
original white paint, and is rustfree from southern Oregon. The body
and bed are very straight for a 34 year old truck.
It is an excellent
driver with a smooth strong 400, a nice shifting C6 automatic, power
steering, power disc brakes, factory bed side toolbox, and factory Ford
tie down hooks. It has the divorced 205 transfer case. It also has the
heavy duty big hub front axle, with new Warn locking hubs, and the big
disc brakes. The truck has nice tires, and nice exhaust. The disc
brakes stop straight, and smooth, and the suspension is tight. Hop in
pump the gas peddle a couple times, the choke sets, and she fires right
up.
The bottom line,
this is a nice clean unabused rustfree western survivor that I would hop
in and drive anywhere. These Highboys are the hottest trucks right
now, and 1977 is the most desirable year, this one won't last.
