1978 F150 4x4 long bed. This one is 99.9% rustfree from
California. It has a strong smooth 460 engine. Other options
include: C6 automatic, power steering, power disc brakes, factory tie down
hooks, dual fuel tanks, etc. This F150 has the "Camper Special" towing
and hauling package that features, the big "Desert Cooler" radiator, extra
fluid coolers, front and rear anti-sway bars, etc.
It also has the high pinion Dana 44 front axle, the bullet proof NP205 transfer case, and 9
inch rear axle. I call it 99.99% Rustfree because it has some pinholes
in the passengers floor. The floor is still solid. Other than
that this truck is totally rustfree.
This was a one family owned 4x4. The guy I got it from said that his
dad bought it brand new with the 460 in it. Per the VIN it was built
with the 351, so the dealer must have installed the 460 when the truck was
brand new.
The odometer reads 08,803, so it's probably 108k which is still low for it's
age. The exhaust is sound. The brakes stop nice. The
suspension is tight.
The paint is mostly
original. Those of you who watch the
website close know that I'm struggling to find 70's Fords. This is a
nice solid turn key driver. Survivors like this are all but gone.
