Hard to
find and desirable
1978 F250 4x4 with Top-of-the-Line "Lariat" trim. 1978 was the first
year for the Lariat. Prior to 78 that point the XLT was the
top-of-the-line. This Lariat is 98% RUSTFREE from southern Oregon.
The body is pretty straight and uncut. It has typical dings, chips,
and scratches for a 40+ year old truck.
It not only has the "Lariat" fancy trim package, but also the heavy duty
"Camper Special" package. Again, the Lariat package got all the fancy
interior and exterior trim. Whereas the Camper Special package got the
heavy duty parts like dual batteries, front and rear anti-sway bars, bigger
brakes, extra coolers, etc.
Being a
Lariat it is fully loaded.
Options include: 460 engine, C6 automatic, dual tanks, A/C, tilt,
cruise, the big front disc brakes, F & R anti-sway bars, bed side toolbox,
factory roof marker lights, etc. The interior is complete and pretty
original.
This truck
isn't the nicest Lariat I have ever had, but I can't hardly find this cool
stuff anymore. I am really struggling
to find any pre 80 Fords. If you want one of these trucks
that is fully loaded like this you better get one quick, or the nice ones
will be gone or just too expensive.
Bottom line this is
an exceptional true classic 4x4. It is rare, highly optioned, and has
a desirable color combination. I have priced it way less than if it
were 100% rustfree. I am leaving plenty of room for the buyer to do
this truck right. If it were 100% rustfree the price would be closer
to $15k minimum.
