Here is one of
the cleanest 1979 F250 4x4's I have had in quite some time. 1979 was
the best and last year Ford built real trucks. This one is a
fine example. I bought this truck from the original lady owner.
It is Rustfree from California.
This 4x4 also has the right equipment, starting with a strong 400, C6
automatic, HD trailer package (big disc brakes, sway bars, skid plates, and
extra coolers), HD 205 transfer case, PS, A/C, bed side toolbox, working
dual fuel tanks, tilt wheel, etc.
It also has a class III hitch, new 33X12.5X16.5 tires, nice Flowmaster
exhaust, new Ranch shocks, and a nice sounding CD radio. This
truck is an excellent driver, with only 150k original miles. The drive
train is solid, the suspension
is tight, the brakes are excellent. You could hop in this 4x4 and go
anywhere. The body and bed are quite straight for its age. The
inside of the bed has been sprayed with trunk spatter paint. The cheap
white wagon wheels are the worst part of this truck. The body is
rustfree, but some of the seems
have gotten surface rust under the factory seem filler. I have cleaned
them out and touched them up. This is common on Fords, even from
California. Finally this truck has a 4 lift
that gives it the old "Highboy" look. This a fine example of a
true heavy duty classic Ford 4x4.
