Very nice original
survivor 1979
Ford F250 4x4, with Premium Ranger XLT trim package. This truck is
a straight, original paint, 100% rustfree from California. This is a
well optioned truck. It has the desirable 4 speed transmission, and a
strong smooth rebuilt 351 engine. This 4x4 also has the "Trailer Special"
package that gives rear anti-sway bar, larger brakes, and extra coolers.
Other options include PS, PDB, Tilt, Dual tanks, 3.54 axles with a Dana 44
front, Dana 60 rear, and the bullet proof NP205 transfer case .
Now here is the rest
of the story on this unique 4x4. We brought it back from California
about three years ago. A repeat local buyer came buy and his 80 year
old dad fell in love with the truck. They bought it and proceeded to
redo everything on the truck but the paint. I'm a firm believer, they
are only original once, and they agreed. When I say everything, I'm
not exaggerating. They wanted this truck to be safe and reliable for
an 80 year old driver. Everything mechanical is either new, rebuilt,
or been checked out. The same goes for the interior.
Mechanically: (a partial list of major components)
1. Rebuilt 351, with RV cam, Edelbrock Intake and Edelbrock Carburetor
2. New leaf springs
3. New drive shafts and u joints
4. New brakes, shocks, and suspension
5. New clutch, inspected and resealed 4 speed, and NP 205 TCase
6. Resealed and inspected front and rear axles
7. New 1 into 2 FlowMaster dual exhaust
8. New "Vintage Air" AC system
9. New Goodyear Durra Track Kevlar 285/75/16 tires
10. New battery, radiator, steering shaft, steering gear box, clutch Z bar,
washer reservoir bottle
Interior:
1. OE style seat cover
2. Carpet
3. Door panels
4. Dash pad
5. Instrument Cluster (they only put 365 miles on it)
6. Trim around the dash
7. Head liner
8. Alpine high end Bluetooth and hands free phone stereo, and matching
factory fit speakers.
It is truly
unbelievable the time and money spent on this original California survivor.
This is also my favorite trim package. The body side molding, with
wheel arch molding, factory tie down hooks, and the very rare lower rocker
molding, is the perfect look.
This truck runs and
drive just as nice as it should. This is one I should keep for myself,
but unfortunately the bills don't stop. If you like me appreciates an
original paint survivor, then you would be hard pressed to find a much nicer
option.
Enjoy the pics and
don't drag your feet. I can hardly put hands on any pre 80 Ford 4x4's
any longer.
